301: Facility Personnel and Tribal Member Protection
This course is designed to educate Tribal employees who work in a facility, community center, study center, wellness center or branch office setting where they are responsible for overseeing the protection of personnel and Tribal members coming in to the Tribal office setting.
The instructor will provide insight into identifying indicators of criminal behavior that could be potentially disruptive or a threat to safety such as individuals that exhibit: sexual predatory behavior, display indicators they are under the influence of an intoxicant or drug, display violent or abusive behavior and how to defuse and take a leadership role in the situation.
Emphasis will be placed on crisis intervention, defusing a potentially dangerous situation, mediation of personnel disputes and background investigation techniques. The training will also identify legal issues surrounding negligent hiring, and various Tribal, state and federal guidelines, which may affect various Tribal programs.
